On this page I will be posting some pictures I took of Lionel's fiddle
making stuff at his home in 1994. Fiddle making stuff was everywhere, every
room of the house was filled with necks, pieces of wood, partially completed
fiddles, tools and general clutter. Lionel assured me he moved the stuff
off of his bed when he wanted to sleep, but I'm not so sure.

Drying Fiddle
This fiddle was recently completed, it was still wet and ready for a second coat of varnish. It has a really warm back. |

Lionel's Kitchen Table and Workshop Table
This is Lionel's former kitchen table, as you can see fiddles occupy most of it. There are also some measuring tools and some finger planes. |

Finger Planes
These little planes are used to carve the top and back of the fiddle into the desired shape. He had several wood templates he used to check his work as he went along. |
